Our program is open to motivated high school and undergraduate students who are eager to explore original research projects, gain mentorship from top-tier PhD graduates and candidates, and strengthen their academic skills.
No prior research experience is required. Our mentors guide students through every step of the research process, helping beginners learn the skills and strategies needed to complete a meaningful project.
Students receive hands-on mentorship throughout their research and the publication process. While publication can not be guaranteed, with quality work, many students successfully publish their work, gaining valuable experience in academic writing and sharing research with a wider audience.
All mentorship sessions are conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams. Students meet one-on-one with their mentor in structured sessions, and receive guidance, feedback, and support throughout their project.
The program includes 20 structured half-hour sessions. The frequency of meetings is flexible to accommodate student and mentor schedules, but weekly meetings are encouraged for consistent progress.
Students can explore topics in STEM, humanities, social sciences, and interdisciplinary areas. Mentors help ensure the project is feasible, academically rigorous, and aligned with the student’s interests.
Yes, all students must complete the standard application first. Once accepted, students can submit a scholarship application for consideration based on need and program availability.
The standard program fee is $2,585 for the full mentorship package, which includes 20 half-hour sessions and structured guidance. Payment is required after acceptance and enrollment.
ThesisPathways is a fully remote mentorship program, and students do not work in institutional or university laboratories through the program. However, depending on the project, students may choose to conduct simple, safe, and independent experiments on their own. Any hands-on activities must be appropriate for a home or school setting, follow safety guidelines, and do not require specialized lab equipment. Mentors focus on guiding research design, analysis, and interpretation rather than supervising in-person lab work.
Yes! Mentors can provide personalized letters of recommendation highlighting your research, academic growth, and achievements for college, graduate school, and scholarship applications. Mentors can provide letters once they have worked with you for at least 5 sessions, ensuring they can speak knowledgeably about your progress and accomplishments.
All mentors and students must be based in the United States. However, if a student or mentor is temporarily traveling abroad for vacation, they may continue participating in the program as long as they maintain reliable internet access and can attend sessions on schedule.
